BENSPORT BODY.

As a result of a good run on Bensport, we have the following criticisms to make.

A penetrating draught comes from the back of the sunshine roof onto the neck of the passenger and driver at speeds above 70 M.P.H. (The roof being closed)

There is no light provided on the dash that can conveniently be used for map reading by the passenger when the car is in motion.

The space for suitcases seems singularly unfortunate in dimensions as it is not quite deep enough to take two suitcases one on top of the other, and not wide enough for them side by side. A slight increase in the depth would seem to be the simplest solution.

B. Hopps' car made by Mulliners had a quick release catch which enabled the drivers seat to slide right back for getting out on the O.S. This would be a great asset on this car.

To get the gear lever in the most comfortable position, the drivers cushion wants to be cut away slightly on the O.S. front corner to miss the gear lever in top and second speed.

Anything that can be done to improve the "pot" for the pedals will be an asset. At present on a long run, the sharp edge rubbing the top of the heel is rather trying.

This type of body, as was shewn upon Peregrine lll, is the worst for shewing up booms. Asbestos treatment of the scuttle and floor boards would therefore have a chance to prove its worth.

Is there a proprietary type of stone guard that we could try for the radiator. The car is so low that it may be found necessary.

Generally speaking, the body so far has stood up remarkably well and there are few rattles apart from the bonnet. It is the centre of attraction when the car pulls up in a town. It also seems to catch the eye of the Gendarme with embarrassing frequency.
