Re: Your new 20/25 H.P. - GLG.5.

You will no doubt know that we have now fitted up your car with the following improvements:-

(1) 35° instead of 45° servo cam. This should give an increase of 43° in the servo multiplication of torque.

(2) Fully floating linings.

(3) Ball bearing servo bridge.

(4) Non-fading servo linings.

The steering is also fitted with short type Pendulum Lever, and lower loading to the cross steering and side steering tubes. Wakefield's Castrol Oil is also in the Steering Box.

In addition, the new rear axle is fitted, as per Wor{Arthur Wormald - General Works Manager}1/R29.4.35.

Archer tells me that your car was taken out for a short run last Friday afternoon, and En. and JLE.{J. Lee Evans - Chassis Test Manager} accompanied him, and they considered the brakes to be better than the standard 20/25 H.P. brakes, and gave the impression that they would improve still further with use.

It was not considered, however, that much had been gained by fitting the short Pendulum Lever, but it will be interesting to have your comments on this, especially since you had already driven the car prior to the short lever being fitted.

With regard to the petrol consumption, Archer states that the time at their disposal was too short to make consumption tests of any value on Friday afternoon last, since you required the car in the evening, and they had other work to do in the meantime.

You also queried the performance, thinking that your car was not quite so good as C's car - GAE-19, but in connection with this, Archer states that acceleration tests were made with both cars running side by side, and the performance of each car was found to be about the same.
