Dear Mr. Robotham,

I have now had the opportunity of perusing the report submitted by Mr. Markland subsequent to his visit to your works during the latter end of June. His report contains much useful information, which indicates that you had a very successful session during their visit.

The position with regard to AC.9 bearing material now appears to be quite clear, and we have discussed the matter still further with Mr. Blackith, of the Wellworthy Company, and satisfactory arrangements have been made with regard to the production of the test bearings for both the 8.6 litre and the Cub C.I. engine.

You requested us to let you have information with regard to connecting rods. Arrangements have been made to despatch to you all the required information in this direction and which will enable you to make weight and performance comparisons such as you desire.

As I think I have told you before, the results obtained in service with the RR.56 rods were very satisfactory, with particular regard to the bearings, and we were only forced to discontinue their use due to minor troubles which we experienced in the shank, and also the operators' desire to have renewable shells instead/having to purchase an entirely complete rod.
