| Exptl. Dept. Hs{Lord Ernest Hives - Chair}/Rm.{William Robotham - Chief Engineer}14/KW. 9th October, 1934. Neville Rollason, Esq., The Manor House, Tittensor, Staffs. Dear Neville, Thank you very much for your letter of the 3rd. I consider it is exceedingly nice of you to give the Bentley so many bouquets. I think it is true that I am so painfully aware of the car's deficiencies and so absorbed in trying to rectify them that I sometimes forget it has any merits at all. A letter such as yours therefore is very refreshing. There is no doubt that your three complaints are perfectly reasonable. The clutch I am sure we can rectify if you will let us have your car at the Works, but I suggest not until after the Show. If you prefer to wait a little while we might have made more progress with the other two items, so that we could deal with them simultaneously. If you have done 12,000 miles I suggest that you watch your sparking plugs, because we are apt to get point burning, particularly with Ethyl, and this results in poor slow running. I was in Paris last week and was interested to see how the cars were standing up under the treatment given them by the Continental enthusiasts. One fellow covered 340 kilometres in 3 hours, which was not bad going!! I am seeing Dick at the Motor Show, and hope you may be there too. Yours sincerely, | ||
