Mr Platford submitted for the information of the Committee notice of the following patent: Crankchamber lubrication. This patent is for connecting adjacent big end bearing pins in engines having sets of three cylinders with no intermediate bearings. The big end pins are connected by circular pipes to overcome the effect of centrifugal force. The Committee agreed that this scheme could not be applied to our present engine owing to the use of intermediate bearings. Y740 | ||
