To Hs.{Lord Ernest Hives - Chair} from R.{Sir Henry Royce} c. to BJ. BY.{R.W. Bailey - Chief Engineer} 8430 R5/M9.7.27. PHANTOM STEERING, & RADIATOR. X. 8430 X. 8250 The chief advantage that we can hope for in the steering will be due to the decreased weight on the front wheels caused by the re-distribution and reduction of weight for the better riding qualities of the cars. We are moving towards this objective. The radiator on 10-EX should be criticised and approved. There are several advantages in this model, both in weight and appearance. It is lighter, to assist in riding and steering qualities, and has a thinner appearance, increasing the apparent length of the bonnet. The fan can be nearer the surface of the radiator.
