SQUEAKING BRAKES. X8420

We are not able to state the exact cause of squeaking brakes. We know of a number of causes but we do not know of any means of eliminating them squeaking entirely.

Before we can help you, we should want to know whether it is the front or rear brakes which squeak.

In the case of the 20 HP. we have recently fitted a new form of damper. This is an improvement over the original type although we know it will not eliminate all brake squeaks. Are we receiving less complaints with cars fitted with the new damper?

There is a proposal that a similar form of damper shall be fitted to the rear brakes on the 40/50.

We are also in constant touch with Ferodo Ltd. They are sending us this week some more material which may or may not improve matters.
