The modification of Phantom III undersheets to suit Wraith type steering.

Please receive herewith E.CD.666 (2 Sheets) Side Guard - Offside - Phantom III. This modification is necessary to give clearance for the Wraith type steering F.CD.545, and its side steering tube. In order to simplify the undersheet, we have modified the hand ignition controls to bring the control clear above the side guard, the modified control is shown on E.CD.680, the nearside engine guard is not altered. Since making the above design we have learnt of a proposal to eliminate the hand ignition control entirely, we shall therefore make a supplementary design to show the alteration necessary to the controls and undersheet to suit the deletion of the hand ignition control, so that designs will then be available or with or without this control. We also send the following designs for filing and not for issue of prints, as they do not require to be detailed. E.CD.680 Modified Distributor Control. Phantom III. E.CD.636 Side Guard - Offside. Phantom III. E.CD.636 is an alternative design of the offside engine guard, but we prefer the design shown on E.CD.666, which should be detailed and instructed for the next 15,000 miles test car.
