Cont'd.{John DeLooze - Company Secretary} - 4 - 5. PETROL v.{VIENNA} OIL ENGINES FOR TANK PROPULSION. Before seeing the tank trials we were of the opinion that an oil engine was the right power plant. Since, however, we have been able to appreciate the vital necessity for a good power weight ratio and also the small space which can be alloted to the power plant, we have come to the conclusion, that for the time being at any rate, petrol will be used in these big track vehicles. 5. WHEELED VEHICLE. In conjunction with Leyland's, we are looking into the question of a four-wheeled drive vehicle, to carry the same turret as the Mark VI. tank. If it appears that one of these can be produced for half the man-hours of the tank, it might be worth putting the scheme up to the Mechanisation Board to see if we are justified in proceeding further with the project.
