REC'D
GOSHAWK. REAR AXLE. X4256
This is to confirm having handed to you at Derby N.sch. 1262, shewing our suggestions for strength-ening the rear axle shaft reducing the outer nut in accord-ance with Mr. Royce's instructions, and modifying the meth-od of locking the axle tube nut also in accordance with Mr. Royce's instructions. In addition to this there has to be effected a taper guide to enable the driving piece to easily enter the serrations on the hub.
We understand that the suggestions shewn on N.sch. 1262 are practically the same as those you had already put in hand at Derby, and we therefore have agreed to your scheme going forward subject to the addition of the taper guide previously referred to.
