You will remember that some while ago it was decided to modify 27EX. putting on to it any improvements that we had in mind.

We sent to you a scheme (N.Scheme) shewing a modified crossmember at the front end of the rear springs, and certain modifications to the tubular crossmember and brake equalisers to enable wells to be used for the feet of the rear passengers. DA.{Bernard Day - Chassis Design} can find you this scheme.

The present Continental Phantoms which we are now selling have been made very much longer in the body to get a reasonable leg room in the back with the result that rear seat is too far back and the proportions of the body are spoiled. Even then we do not get as much room as on the Bentley .

We think that this change would greatly improve the Continental Phantom, and that it is perhaps very desirable in that the Bentley body accommodation will shew up in a bad light that of the Continental.

It is a change that we can do with moderate ease.

We would like to know whether you are going to go on with this. If so we will arrange for the body to have a new rear floor with the larger wells for the feet.
