THE “TITAN” (BRITISH MADE)
SAFETY STEERING STABILISER
(BRITISH PATENT 372930).
THE GREATEST IMPROVEMENT IN STEERING MECHANISM SINCE ACKERMAN STEERING WAS INVENTED
COMPLETE STABILITY WITHOUT INCREASING LOAD ON STEERING
Fig. 1.
Fig. 1. Stabiliser Mounted on Axle Beam showing clearly method of connecting to track rod and small space occupied. Stabiliser can of course be fitted in the reverse position UNDERNEATH the axle beam when this is more convenient.
Foolproof and requires NO ATTENTION.
SUITABLE FOR ANYTHING FROM A “BABY” CAR TO A 2-TON TRUCK.
The TITAN Steering Stabiliser is NOT merely an expedient to cure a defect such as “wheel wobble,” etc., but a REVOLUTIONARY IMPROVEMENT TO ANY STEERING, just as a shock absorber revolutionises ordinary springing. By absorbing and checking all deflections due to impact of road irregularities, stopping wobble, wander and like defects, and relieving the steering gear of much of the strain of holding the road wheels straight, WITHOUT IN ANY WAY LOADING OR RESISTING THE ORDINARY STEERING MOVEMENTS, a great SAVING in WEAR on all steering joints, steering gear box, king pins, bushes, etc., and on front tyres is effected, and the steering is maintained in first-class condition indefinitely. The fitting of a TITAN is an ECONOMY as well as a luxury.
Fig. 2. Cut-away drawing illustrating how the TITAN operates WITHOUT FRICTION or hydraulic pressure, deriving its resistance from the INERTIA of a revolving weight, damped in oil. The simple method of attachment to the axle is also shown.
