Nr. Preston,

For the attention of Mr.Gollop.

Dear Sirs,

We have received your letter of 14th. inst., for which we thank you, and have noted the quotation contained therein, and also that you can supply a moulded bend with canvas reinforcement. As already explained, the proposal to use a hose similar to Rm.{William Robotham - Chief Engineer}484 is only in the tentative stage, the engine for same being still on the drawing board. Your figure, however, induces us to consider using a curved hose connection in place of a bent metal pipe and hose on an existing model - we are accordingly detailing the necessary pieces. In order to save unnecessary work, however, we wish to know -

(a) Whether the bend which we propose to substitute can be made by yourselves in S.1633.K specification rubber with the usual canvas reinforcement,

(b) what the approximate price is likely to be.

Enclosed please find rough sketch Rm.{William Robotham - Chief Engineer}492 (which can be scaled for estimating purposes) showing the form the bend is likely to take. Could you please supply the above requested information by return if possible as the job is definitely an urgent one.

In the event of your being able to supply this
