To Rj from Hs{Lord Ernest Hives - Chair}/Ru. c. to CJ. GOSHAWK 11. STANDARD INDICATOR DIAGRAM. X4223 X4580 X4573 Attached is a copy of the standard G.11. Indicator Diagram, logarithms of the absolute pressure, and volume being plotted. It will be seen that the slope of the explosion line is 1.255, and that after-burning ceases after the piston has travelled .15 of the stroke downwards, showing that most of the energy of the charge is liberated at what is practically constant volume. The slope of the compression line is 1.32 showing that the charge is neither receiving much heat from, or giving out heat to the cylinder walls for the greater part of the compression stroke. For the first one-tenth of the stroke, however, it will be seen that the charge absorbs heat from the cylinder walls as one would expect. Hs{Lord Ernest Hives - Chair}/Wp. | ||
