Wor.{Arthur Wormald - General Works Manager} from Wn. Wn43/EIT.10.4.33. Hs.{Lord Ernest Hives - Chair} and Lov.{Mr Lovesey} have been to see me in relation to the proposed use by Lov.{Mr Lovesey} of his aeroplane on Company's business. I have his private policy and this covers him for private or business flying to a limited extent. The only limitation to which your attention need be drawn arises out of the cover against Third-party risks. This risk is covered up to £1,000, and in my opinion, this figure is totally inadequate. In connection with the policy which you hold covering Third-party risks arising out of the use of a motor car, you will probably find that the liability of the Insurance Company to indemnify you against third-party claims is unlimited, and I think it is all the more important in the case of an aeroplane used for business purposes that Third-party liability should be covered to an unlimited extent. Before taking steps to draft out an agreement with Lov.{Mr Lovesey} and the Company, I think as a condition precedent, he should be asked to arrange with the Insurance Company for Third-party risks to be covered to an unlimited extent - that is to say - on lines similar to those which should cover him when he is driving a car. I enclose an extra copy of this memo in case you desire to send one to Lov.{Mr Lovesey} Apart from this, I do not see any difficulty in making suitable arrangements to cover the situation. Wn. Enclosure - copy memo. | ||
