PETO & RADFORD. CONTINUATION 2. E.{Mr Elliott - Chief Engineer} Fowler Clark Esq., 6th July 1926. this to Mr. Oliver Lucas some time ago and I suggested that makers of apparatus for these so called 12-volt car systems should regard them as 15 to 16 volt systems, which is the voltage they really work at, and design them accordingly. He said that they had got their lamp makers to do so years ago and the so called 12-volt lamp (made for them at any rate) is actually a 15 to 16 volt lamp and that if it was strictly speaking a 12-volt lamp it would burn out much too quickly. I do not know enough about the subject to say whether other makers of apparatus that form parts of these sets do likewise but I am sure you will know, and I shall be interested to hear your opinion on the subject. Yours sincerely, GRN Minchin | ||
