BY23/G.15.5.28 We are in receipt of your letter of the 15th inst. reference as above, and are sorry to hear that you are having a little trouble with some of the glasses on the petrol filters breaking. In reply we would say that we certainly have had a certain number of complaints about breakage, but the percentage of the total is extremely small. We have now delivered over 8000 of these filters to various people in this Country, but we are certain that we have not had more than 30 or 40 cases of glasses breaking and then we could not be sure that some of them were not due to having been dropped or knocked. We must agree that with a material like glass there is always a possibility of a breakage occurring now and again, even though we use the finest glass procurable i.e. "Pyrex".
