| S/W. BY.{R.W. Bailey - Chief Engineer} Stellited Valves. Cx{Major Len W. Cox - Advertising Manager}3/KW3.9.35. Thanks for BY/Cgh.{W Clough}5/G31.8.35. Will you please let me know how long these valves should be run in any individual car for the tests which you wish carried out. What I am anxious to do is to avoid their being fitted to any of our Trials Cars which may in the near future be disposed of. Having that in mind the following cars might be suitable for this job :- 1. Lp{Mr Lappin}'s car - if they are not already fitted to it. 2. Our new Trials Saloon B-69-EJ - chassis now in London but car not yet in commission. 3. Mr. G.R.N.Minchin's car B-16-DK, which is coming to W. about the middle of this month for fitting with lead bronze bearings and the addition of water excluders to the brake drums. When I receive information as to how long these valves should run, then possibly I can nominate further Trials Cars which will be in our possession long enough to enable the tests to be carried out. I am presuming that this scheme only applies to Bentley chassis. Cx.{Major Len W. Cox - Advertising Manager} -Kwb. RECEIVED BY 4 SEP 1935 | ||
