Conventional Type Road Springs for the SpectreCodename for Phantom III.

In considering the conventional type road springs which are now being designed for the SpectreCodename for Phantom III, we understand that E.{Mr Elliott - Chief Engineer} can give us the same length of spring as we have at present with a pro rata bump clearance.

We consider that this is what we want because we do not want to depart from our present practice if we have to revert to leaf springs. In particular we do not want the top leaf any thinner than at present because we may have to use our existing method of taking braking torque, in which case this top leaf in compression becomes the limiting factor.
