FIRST MYTH CAR.

Whilst the R.A.F. are making up their minds as to the final specification of the winch which is a process of design, we want to stop work on this project and concentrate on getting out a specification to which the first Myth car can be built. This specification was discussed at a Meeting at the Clan Foundry on March 18th. A brief outline is as follows :-

1. Front Suspension. As designed.
2. Radiator. As designed.
3. Engine. As detailed.
4. Mounting. May be modified according to latest experiments carried out on thumper.
5. Steering column Supplied by Burman & Sons.
and Box.
6. Gearbox. Morris 8 h.p. or Hillman 'Minx', according to design considerations.
7. Brakes. Drums as designed, shoes, master cylinder and pipe supplied by Lockheed's.
8. Propellor. Hardy Spicer's.
9. Rear Axle. Stock Salisbury modified to Myth dimensions, to Rm.{William Robotham - Chief Engineer}2/ET.18.3.41.
10.Petrol Tank. A design to be completed, luggage space not to be restricted by filler.
11.Exhaust System. Half existing straight 8 system, scaled down, or alternatively, best system off 4-cylinder cars at the Clan.
12.Wheels. Should be instructed and put in hand forthwith.
13.Pedals. As designed, to suit box selected.

This specification should be clear up to the point where L.O.P's exist for every section. In cases where a proprietary article is used, it should have an outline drawing and a piece number. Though detail drawings of proprietary parts will not be issued to the Shop, it is desirable that Rm{William Robotham - Chief Engineer}/HH. should have as many of these as possible, so that we shall know what we are testing.

Another Meeting will be held in about three week's time to ascertain what parts are still outstanding with regard to instructions to Rm{William Robotham - Chief Engineer}/HH. from the Design Drawing Office, and what date can be given for the issue of the final specification.
