X5080 To EV.{Ivan Evernden - coachwork} From Hs{Lord Ernest Hives - Chair}/ACL. Hs{Lord Ernest Hives - Chair}/ACLA/AD29.11.29. X.5070 X.5080 X.4660 RE: 'JAPAN' INDUCTION PIPE. R.{Sir Henry Royce} wishes us to see if we can get similar results to those given by twin carburetters by means of one carburetter on suitably arranged divided induction system. (see memo R3/M25.11.29). We have a vertical Stromberg carburetter which can be used with such a system. Would you please issue details and instructions for such a pipe to be built up in copper to carry the Stromberg carburetter which we supply you for the necessary information. The scheme could be on the lines of our appended rough sketch. We are anxious to test out this arrangement as soon as possible because it is a question of deciding whether we require one or two carburetters for Japan.
