Instructions for altering damper loading using specified washers to improve low and high-speed ride.

Therefore we favour them because we believe they give a better low speed ride and at the same time give increased damping for high speed work.

We attach a sketch shewing the location of the stud which carries these washers. The stud should be withdrawn and the washers and distance pieces removed for this test, the stud then being replaced.

With regard to the damper loading. This can be obtained by altering the washers A.{Mr Adams} under the valve caps except in the case of the high pressure valve on the front dampers. (The cap nearest the side channel). In this case a small washer should be fitted at X.

We are sending under separate cover the washers to be inserted. Their respective positions are :

Will you please try this alteration to the dampers as soon as possible, and report on it.

At Derby we have repeatedly tried a low pressure loading half that of the high pressure loading at Mr. Royce's request, but our opinion has always been that the best results are obtained when the
