re. BUMPERS.

In reply to your memo. of the 12th inst.,

we have seen a design of bumper in which the front bar is carried by two 'U' springs from the dumb irons, and is then supported in a forward direction by two semi-elliptic springs clamped by their centres to the dumb irons, somewhat as shewn in sketch.
This bumper appears to be practically immune from the danger of closing in of the front dumb irons from a central collision, as the foreshortening of the front bar should be accommodated by the twisting of the 'U' shaped carriers.

Can you obtain something on these lines?
