112-8 Jnr.{Charles L. Jenner} from Rm.{William Robotham - Chief Engineer} Rm.{William Robotham - Chief Engineer}6/ML.14.7.40. B.80. MARINE UNIT. Re your Memo. Jnr.{Charles L. Jenner}4/JH.10.7.40. I should not worry about the fact that the oil cooler seems to be rather a small size for our 8-cylinder engine. We know that we can run reasonably satisfactorily up to an oil inlet temperature of 120 deg. C. with our aluminium tin big erd bearings. Therefore we can afford to use a smaller oil cooler than other people. Fortunately it is a thing which can be checked without much difficulty on the test bed and will be dealt with early on in the programme of marine units when this matter is re-opened.
