Single Cylinder Work.

We want to purchase a Rudge-Whitworth racing motor cycle engine of 500 c.c. displacement. This is slightly smaller than the Bentley and SpectreCodename for Phantom III cylinders but near enough to be of direct comparative value.

When we have this unit we can obtain on loan from the Rudge people almost every type of overhead valve cylinder head in which we are interested, having 4 valves per cylinder.

They are quoting us not more than £70 for the complete engine and if we order now, can obtain delivery at the end of June.

We have in mind that we may later order a Norton engine to investigate the 2 valves per cylinder.

E.{Mr Elliott - Chief Engineer} agrees with this proposal.
