X2894. EFCL/AD. 9th May, 1930. Mr. G.R.N. Minchin, Messrs. Peto & Radford, 50 Grosvenor Gardens, London, S.W.1. Dear Mr.Minchin, I duly received yours of the 5th inst. and am sorry to hear that the tungsten point trouble is still with you and also on other 20 HP. cars about which you have enquired. The trouble does not appear to be complained of in other directions, but in view now of what you say we will look into the matter more seriously. We are well aware of the necessity of absolutely flat initial bedding of the tungsten points in order to make and operate over more than just an edge or surface. In this connection we some time ago wrote an inter-departmental memo of which, for your information, we enclose a copy which may throw some light on the matter. I think that anything further I could say on the matter would be covered by the information contained therein. Yours faithfully, Copy of memo attached. | ||
