Proposing a cost-saving alteration to the Needle Bearing Housings for the Phantom III chassis front suspension.

We have on the above assembly a number of Needle Bearing Housings to which we are suggesting an alteration to effect an economy in manufacture. The suggestion as WKS.183 attached shows one of the shoulders in the bore of the housings removed and replaced by a separate washer. This would allow the grinding and gauging of the Roller Race to be much simplified and would enable us to use our Sizematic internal grinding machine. We estimate the total saving on the Housings, of which there are 12 on this section, would amount to 5/6d. per Chassis. Sft.{Mr Swift} [Signature] | ||
