S/W Hs.{Lord Ernest Hives - Chair}...from C. x7380. RECEIVED 20 MAY 1932 C10/C19.5.32 We were discussing recently the question of sub-frames and as to whether we can do away with this feature on the 40/50 h.p. chassis. We understand that one point you were doubtful about is as to whether the sub-frame helps in rigidity in respect of the diamond mounting. Will you kindly let me know what your present views on this point are. We have two cars in London, viz. 60-JS{Mr Johnson's Secretary} and 61-JS{Mr Johnson's Secretary}, one fitted with a sub-frame and the other without, and curiously enough, chassis No. 61-JS{Mr Johnson's Secretary}, without a sub-frame, is better from the point of view of "jellying" than 60-JS{Mr Johnson's Secretary} that has a sub-frame. I do not know whether it would be interesting for you to try these two cars or not. C. | ||
