I would be extremely interested to know if it is found at home that the central system supplies xx oil to the springs and the felt pads in adequate quantities in relation to the rest of the chassis. I must say that with this one exception, the system appears to be a wonderful success as regards even distribution of oil. I have not had the opportunity of examining a car which has been for any considerable mileage in the hands of a customer in this respect.

I need hardly say that I never miss an opportunity of impressing upon owners and drivers the necessity of keeping the central oil tank filled. It is surprising how careless some people are about this very simple operation.

I do not propose to fit lubricators to the gaiters without your approval as I realise an objection might be urged that it is undesirable to increase the number of separate points in view of the existence of the very excellent central system. At the same time our experience so far does rather indicate that(at all events in this hot climate)these 8 extra lubricators might be desirable. If you agree, would you please send me 3 sets of the 8 Enot lubricators complete with washers of the type suitable for fitting to gaiters so that I may also fit them to customers' cars as they come into our workshop if the felt pads appear to be rather badly dried up as in the case of 91-XJ.

I may mention that the front springs which are usually the worst offenders, have not so far shown any signs of squeaking.
