My dear Robotham

We are just in receipt of a cable from Rolls-Royce addressed to Mr. Kettering, which states that you are interested in obtaining a General Motors 460 cubic inch two-stroke diesel unit. The cable carried the company's signature, but I assume it was probably sent by your good self and if this is not so will you please pass this letter on to the proper person.

We are just getting into production and it will be some time yet before we shall have an engine available which we can let you have. I shall, however, keep the thing in mind and, as I view it at the moment, you will hear from me in from sixty to ninety days.

Many thanks for your interest, and best regards.

Sincerely yours
