Dear Sirs,

Chassis No. 12-EM, 10,000 Miles Trial.

We regret the delay in replying to your letter of the 10th. inst., regarding the pair of Hartford Shock Absorbers removed from the above chassis, but we have now carefully examined the shock absorbers and herewith enclose our Works Report, as requested.

You will, of course, understand that as these shock absorbers had been dissembled before you sent them back to us, it is rather difficult to arrive at a definite conclusion as to the reason for the increase in pressure on one of these absorbers, which, as we have already pointed out, is most unusual, and has never been brought to our notice before.

We should also like to draw your attention to the fact that for cars such as the 40/50hp. ROLLS ROYCE we have always recommended the use of our DUPLEX model, as with the pressure you use on the standard type, the friction discs are rather over-loaded, and it has always been a source of surprise to us that the type 103 which you are using has stood up so well to its work.

We do not know whether you wish us to return the two shock absorbers to you after putting them in order; we are, however, quite willing to replace them with a pair of new ones, which we will despatch on receipt of your further instructions.

Assuring you of our best attention.

Yours faithfully,
T.B. ANDRE & CO. LTD.
(Signed)
Director.
