Notes on Visit to Harvey, Illinois. Page 6. 4135. I mentioned Lycoming's use of 3140 steel, nitrided, on cranks for small aero engine. Mr. Wood objected to the nickel chrome steel for reasons stated above. He said, however, that 4135 (chrome-moly.) would give similar results and cost less. Would handle much better in machining and in the dies. Oy. | ||
