| -2- (4) Broken Push Rod. An alteration in design has overcome this trouble. (5) Leak from the Rear Axle Pinion Bearing. This trouble has been overcome. (6) Size of Carburetter Throttle. This only applied to the 4-carburetter scheme. If we use the Duplex Stromberg carburetter, the question of throttle size does not arise. (7) Leaks from the Front Shock Dampers. Hancocks reports do not indicate that trouble is being experienced with the latest design. (8) Chunking in the Drive. On the car fitted with the Stromberg carburetters we have a gearbox which has only one piece made to fine clearances. This car is surprisingly free from chunking. We think that the more even carburation is partially responsible for the improvement. We also believe that we may have found the most important bit of the gearbox to keep down to fine limits. We are trying to reproduce the results on another car. (9) Gearbox. We are carrying out rig tests to investigate the inconsistency of the gear change on this box. So far we have not got the whole answer. (10) Throwing the Rear Seat Passengers over Hump-Backed Bridges. The Autolock damper development is going along very satisfactorily. They are ready to be fitted to the next car which goes to France. | ||
