P.III PETROL PUMPS.

This is to confirm the discussion held in Hs{Lord Ernest Hives - Chair}' office on Saturday when it was decided to go ahead with a supply of P.III pumps suitable for fitting in the frame.

The programme of this new pump is divided into two parts:-

Firstly, 25 pumps which will be used in cases of complaint and for experimental work.

These pumps have been on order from the S.U. Co. for a number of months, but they have been unable to get the pots. RHC.{R. H. Coverley - Production Engineer} agreed to go ahead and machine pots for 24 pumps, i.e., 48 pots, within the next few days.

Secondly, we require a supply of these high pressure pumps fitted on the frame, as and when they are available. The limiting factor has again been pots, and it is suggested that these should be supplied, completely machined by R.H., the S.U. Co. state that their capacity is being severely strained by our aero programme.

This information was not available on Saturday, and we should like the view of the Works on manufacturing these pots complete.

We have not yet got a firm promise from the S.U. Co. for their parts of the pumps, other than the first 24, but this informa-tion should be available within the next 24 hours.

We consider this high pressure pump to be of vital importance if we are to avoid serious complaints on the P.III during the hot summer weather.

Rm.{William Robotham - Chief Engineer}
