- 2 - A.{Mr Adams} ARRANGEMENTS FOR TESTING RADIATORS. A plant for testing radiators was installed early in April 1935, and diagram No.6 shows the general arrangement of this plant. It is so arranged that the following readings can be taken : (1) Temperature of water at the inlet and outlet of radiator. (2) Quantity of water passing through radiator per minute. (3) Temperature of air in front and behind radiator. (4) Equivalent velocity of radiator through air. Experiments were carried out with radiators of equal frontal area, that adopted being 2 square feet. Cores 20" long X 14½" wide were used. Diagram No.7 shows the arrangement of inlet and outlet tanks which were made to give ample dimensions so as to ensure an even flow of water through the cores. B. RADIATORS TESTED. The following radiators were tested : Marston. Mark II, 52 and 80 mm. Copper. Mark III, 52 mm. Copper. Mark V, 52 and 65 mm. Copper. Mark VI, 52 m m.{Mr Moon / Mr Moore} Copper. 3 row gilled tube core, Copper tubes, Steel fins. | ||
