File Single cylinder file (!) To: "JNR{Charles L. Jenner}" o: "CTS{C. Trot Salt - Carburation}". re Aspin Valve. We have now got an agreement from "Hs{Lord Ernest Hives - Chair}" that we can now authorise Aspin to put one of his heads on the overhead camshaft Bentley engine. If we can get Aspin to agree, we shall pay him for the modification when the engine is completed and type-tested, details of which will be agreed upon before the work is started. We do not think that we should expend much time on designing a head, but should indicate to Aspin what we want. The biggest expense incurred will be cylinder block modifications. We believe, however, that if CTS{C. Trot Salt - Carburation} can locate the pattern from which this block was made, and we can get our own pattern shop to put the necessary bosses on it, we might cut the cost considerably. still If we do this, however, Aspin will/have to machine the block from the casting. Anyhow, we should like to look into the matter, and we will get aspin down here to discuss it with him. | ||
