Re: R.R. Aero Engines.
-------------------

A declaration was made to the British Customs in 1932 under the Import Duties Act to the effect that no parts of foreign origin or manufacture were or would be used in the manufacture of our aero engines, or that our engines would be manufactured by this or any other firm outside Great Britain. Certain concessions were granted to us by entering into this agreement. If, therefore, the position has altered or is likely to alter at some future date it is necessary for us to notify the British Customs and cancel the declaration.

Will you please, therefore, advise us of any proposal that would infringe our undertaking referred to.

D/BP.
