X.3719. RE TRIALS CAR FOR THE AMERICAN COMPANY?

It has occurred to us that there are several other items which we consider should be added to this chassis if the fitting of such is a practicable proposition without delaying delivery, even although the parts are not yet standardised as follows:-

11. X.3701. Filter on float on feed chamber - we consider it advisable to meet the American conditions owing to the considerable trouble experienced with filters being eaten way by the motor spirit which they use (now in the hands of Mr. Day).

12. X.3532. Retaining discs for oil in rear axle (Now in Exptl Dept)

13. X.3908. Vent pipe from the crankchamber to avoid fumes entering body. (Now having consideration by the Exptl: Dept:)

X.3619.
X.3868.
X.3545.

There are several other items which you may consider could be fixed on this car to advantage, such as battery suspended from the inside of the frame, easier removal of the dynamo, reserve petrol tank - low geared axle, etc. but we are afraid it will notbe possible for these to have been tested sufficiently to be recommended. It should be possible however, for us to send these or other improvements after delivery when we are satisfied that they are fit to run on the American chassis.
