| X319 Expl. Dept. Hs{Lord Ernest Hives - Chair}/Swdl.{Len H. Swindell}2/MJ. 6th. August, 1936. The Southwark Mfg., Co. Ltd., Green Lane, Small Heath, BIRMINGHAM. 9. Dear Sirs, Will you please make and forward to us six 3 ply joints to EB.2619 including the modification Rm.{William Robotham - Chief Engineer}115 which we enclose. We have had trouble due to the washer protruding slightly into the bore when squashed down in position causing preignition. Accordingly, we have shown the gasket with a 3.600 bore which should obviate this trouble and at the same time reduced the water space hole in order to keep the existing width of the corrujoint sealing. These are very urgently required and would be pleased to know when you will be able to deliver. As you have made other gaskets for us, we assume you have the main drawing information to EB.2619. An official order will accordingly follow this letter. Yours faithfully, For Rolls-Royce Ltd. Attached: Print Rm.{William Robotham - Chief Engineer}115. | ||
