re. New PhantomCodename for PHANTOM I Engine Throttle Sticking.

This point has been raised on several new cars as taking place after delivery.

Inspection of the throttle revealed the fact that the stickiness appeared to be due to the formation of carbon and a gummy deposit.

The Repair Dept. point out that they have on several occasions of this complaint eased off the sharp edge of the throttle where it comes in contact with the barrel.

In view of the improvement which the Repair Dept. state has been maintained by taking this action, I recommend that this slight modification should be standardised.

This trouble has not been very serious with new cars on test, but we certainly have had a lot of it after the cars have been in service for a short time.

An important point in connection with this throttle is to make sure that the butterfly finds its correct position when closed and that there is end play at each end of the spindle in this position.
