6-B-IV - 15,000 miles Car.

There are only certain parts on this car in which we are interested. The proposal is to remove these from the car and fit other parts while the examination is proceeding. This will keep the car on the road as a piece of useful test apparatus. In any case we do not know what specification to instruct for the next 15,000 miles test until we have concluded the present running on Hall's metal bearings.

Will you therefore please carry out the following work on the car :-

(1) Remove engine unit and strip for examination, replace with B-14.

(2) Remove front axle, axle control dampers and road springs. Replace with a pair of standard road springs, and a front axle to be supplied by Hs{Lord Ernest Hives - Chair}/AFM{Anthony F. Martindale}, who has one available to N.Sch.4860.

(3) Remove front roll rod from the car.

(4) Remove servo and replace by one supplied by Hs{Lord Ernest Hives - Chair}/AFM.{Anthony F. Martindale}

(5) Remove copper pipe from Governor Control Unit and replace by standard pieces.

(6) Remove back axle, examine and replace.

(7) Remove exhaust system and replace with standard.
