CHASSIS 55-MC. BROKEN EXHAUST MANIFOLD.
With reference to Hm{Capt. W. Hallam - Head Repairs}/WSB21/EW. 20.8.26. we are aware of this trouble. It is due to expansion and contraction effects resulting particularly from high speed running of our later chassis.
We should replace this against Works Policy number.
At the moment we have not got a definite design to overcome the trouble. We have had one sent tentatively from West WitteringHenry Royce's home town, but have written back criticising some of its features.
