Remarks On Nos 1 and 2 test the consumption was no criterion, Standard car taken from garage. Engine kept running whilst taking temp readings. Atmos. temp 37°F.{Mr Friese} On Nos 3,4,5 test. consumption was no criterion, Consumption improves as temp. rises carburetter kept in same position on control as in tests 1 and 2. and engine run during readings atmos temp. 37°F.{Mr Friese} On No 6 test, the carburetter was cut down 1/6 of a turn on the H.S jet and 1/5 of a turn on L.S. jet with the water in radiator at 90°C This run included Laddington Rise on which water boiled and car was stopped untill temp came down to 90°C. at the end of run 1 1/4 gallons of water were required to fill radiator. On No 7 test, the route taken was the reverse of No 6 i.e. through B.unton and Matlock. Temp of water after running down Laddington Rise = 75°C, atmos temp 34°F.{Mr Friese} | ||
