To: Sdt from JPB c: IS Gmr Mel Tin Name Plaque for Commercial Vehicles Tin has passed to me for comment the sketch of the proposed plaque design. Apart from the lettering on the R-R emblem being non-authentic, I would question the wisdom of introducing this new 'flower pot shape' of plaque to a Rolls-Royce product. Surely the aim of any "House symbol" is to create in the public mind instant association between product and maker by the constant and repetative use of a familiar form. The R-R shield or the simple badge through long usage alone have meaning: the creation now of yet another "shape" will add only confusion to publicity. JPB | ||
