There is nothing essentially new in Salerni over Sinclair's scheme, which failed to take hold when tried, but the use of the fluid flywheel and epicyclic combination in the interim in this country gives the Salerni scheme a clientele to exploit who will undoubtedly welcome it, and in my opinion this clientele is likely to increase under modern conditions where the average car becomes more and more merely a means of transport.
