re-lined and the drums trued up.
The front brakes may give you the impression of being hot because they are obvious, and because the coach-builders paint these with the usual varnish paint which frizzles and smells as soon as they get hot.
We do not consider ribs are necessary on the front wheel brake drums. We do not use them on the 20 HP. rear drums. It is not intended to use them again on any revised 40/50. Another reason we avoid ribs is because it is desirable that the front brake drums shall be flexible in order to reduce the tendency for brake jaggers.
