BATES - PROPRIETOR TELEGRAMS : SPORTOCARS :: WESDO : LONDON :: NASH DISTRIBUTORS FAMED FOR ALL MAKES OF NEW AND USED CARS TELEPHONE : MAYFAIR :: 8351-6 :: 103, NEW BOND STREET, LONDON. W.1 CAVR/FR. MAY 3RD., 1939. Messrs. Rolls-Royce Limited, D E R B Y. Dear Sirs, EXPERIMENTAL DEPARTMENT. We are much obliged to you for your letter of the 1st. instant (ref: Rm{William Robotham - Chief Engineer}/Ed.{J. L. Edwards}2/JH) from which we are glad to note that you found the Air Conditioning Unit of interest. We quite appreciate that in its normal form it is unsuitable for fitting to Rolls-Royce cars, but we would suggest that as it is in two units, namely: the upper, or air chute, and the lower, or main unit, it would be possible to utilise the lower portion with a special air chute designed to fit your scuttle dash. We should be quite prepared to supply the lower portion only or, alternatively, to supply certain parts such as the thermostatic control and possibly the fan, so that you could make up a unit to suit your requirements. We shall be very glad to hear if the above suggestions interest you, in which case we will go very carefully into the question of cost. Again thanking you. Yours faithfully, For BROOKLANDS OF BOND STREET. C.A.V. Roper ALL CARS OFFERED SUBJECT TO BEING UNSOLD WHEN REQUIRED. CLIENTS' CARS STORED AND DRIVEN AT OWNERS' SOLE RISK.
