Re Open Type Fuses.

Soon after the introduction of the new open type fuse it was found necessary to increase the gauge of fuse element from 30 S.W.G. to 28 S.W.G. in order to prevent deterioration of the wire in the armature circuit, due to oxidation. A change to this effect was instructed by the D.O. on the 16.2.38. for all types of car. Road testing on experimental cars has since proved that this deterioration in respect to the armature fuse is more serious than was at first thought, so much so, that we consider that all cars having this type of distribution board, should have all fuses and spare wire bobbins reloaded with the correct wire.

Investigation shows that all Bentley and Phantom III cars having this type of board, have incorrect wire, this will incur, 105 Phantoms and 60 Bentley units. The Works are not certain what cars have the correct wire on the Wraith, and thus we must assume that all must be changed.
