EAC. ENGINE - OVER-RUN VIBRATIONS.

We have carried out tests with longer connecting rods (Hawk engine type) fitted to the above engine.

The rods were changed over twice in order to confirm the results.

The longer rods do make the engine appreciably smoother on retard, but there was still left a slight period of much reduced amplitude at the same speed.

We are preparing to test the longer rods in conjunction with the stiffer engine coupling shaft on a second EAC. engine which is rather a worse example for over-run vibrations.
