X.4494. RE LIGHTING DYNAMO & STARTER MOTOR FOR PEREGRINE.
X.4492

We shall require to make an RR. dynamo and motor for the Peregrine engine of our own design in accordance with Mr. Royce's instructions, and for the purposes of comparison, we should be very glad if you could let us have all the information you can gather as to what machines are on the market for the 10.HP. class of chassis. It is understood that we do not necessarily wish to purchase machines of other peoples' make. The information we require is the size of the dynamo carcase and armature and overall length and output, also the size of the Motor carcase and armature, overall length, current consumption, and turning moment developed. Mr. Royce has been into the question to some extent of what output we shall require from the dynamo. This was considered to be as follows:-

Head Lamps.................... 2. amps.
Side " & Tail.............. 1½. "
Ignition.................... 1½. "

5.amps.

With allowance for Klaxon and Starting, dynamo out-put to be say, 6 amps.
